Many Cobb residents have recently been discussing the proposed data center development at 1751 Bells Ferry Road in Marietta. We'd like to hear what the Cobb Talk community thinks.

A few facts about the project:

• In June 2025, the Marietta City Council voted unanimously (7-0) to approve rezoning approximately 31 acres at 1751 Bells Ferry Road for a data center campus.

• The approved plans include approximately 347,000 square feet of data center facilities and an on-site electrical substation.

• Supporters cite increased tax revenue, private investment, and the growing demand for cloud computing and AI infrastructure.

One aspect I haven't seen mentioned is the impact on the homeless population in this area. Does anyone know whether the project would affect existing encampments or services nearby?

Also, for those concerned about "neighborhood character," how do you define that for this particular area? Bells Ferry is already a mix of commercial, industrial, and undeveloped uses, so I'm curious how people view the area's identity today versus what they want it to become.

I am not in favor of the expansion of more commercial development along Bells Ferry Road. From what I've seen, there isn't that much land to develop up to Canton GA.
